Your Brain on Coffee

Dear Yoga Student,

As a former coffee junkie, I’ve become obsessed with researching how long-term, heavy caffeine intake affects us…

… and it’s pretty interesting stuff. The reason I’m so interested in this is because it’s completely socially acceptable to down 2-5 caffeinated beverages a day, and many people drink nothing but caffeine all day long.

What about just a little? Or just once and awhile? Probably no big deal except that when you don’t have it, your brain LACKS blood flow.

You move faster, but your brain is only able to do simple tasks – not high level thinking. This video shows before/after brain scan to see what a coffee drinker’s brain looks like when she misses her morning brew.
