“Alcohol may be man’s worst enemy, but the bible says love your enemy.”
– Frank Sinatra
It’s hard to find a single adult social event that doesn’t revolve around alcohol.
Approximately one in five people use (or abuse) prescription or recreational drugs as means of escape.
And what about food? We all have a guilty pleasure (or three) that we turn to when we’re stressed-out, overworked, or just need to blow off steam.
So the question to ask yourself is: “Do your substance habits feed you or bleed you?”
YOUR ASSIGNMENT: Make note of your behaviors with alcohol, drugs, and food in this past year. This is not a moral judgment and there is no universal right or wrong. All of these substances can be positives or extremely negative—it all depends on how they are used.
TIP: be as specific as possible. Rather than say, “I drink too much,” say, “I drink 5-7 bottles of wine per week.
