Easy Salad Dressings

Store-bought salad dressings are full of PUFA’s (polyunsaturated fatty acids) that are not stable nor healthy. Boo! The good news is that salad dressings are incredibly easy to make at home, once you understand how ingredients and different flavor combinations work together.

There are just 3 fundamentals to a great salad dressing: fat, acid, and salt. Try one of our two recipes listed below, or use this formula and make your own!

  • Simple Mustard Vinaigrette Dressing:

¼ cup olive oil

1 tsp mustard

¼ cup balsamic vinegar

½ tsp sea salt

A pinch of black pepper

  • Nama Shoyu Avocado Dressing:

½ avocado

1 lemon

4 tbsp tamari sauce

1 tbsp olive oil

It would be perfect if all the ingredients came from organic farming.

For any of the two recipes listed above, simply mix the ingredients together in a bowl or use a blender until well combined. Enjoy with your favorite selection of greens and vegetables. Store the dressing in the fridge in an airtight jar.
